EPCSO: Driver intentionally crashes, assaults victim in Fabens

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Fabens man was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 22, after he intentionally crashed into a vehicle and proceeded to assault the driver before fleeing the scene, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).

Angel Gustavo Portillo, 33, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $40,000 bond.

On Wednesday, deputies responded to the 1200 block of Bills Street in Fabens about an aggravated assault.

The investigation revealed that Portillo had intentionally crashed his gold Ford Focus into a gray Chevrolet Camaro. Portillo then exited his car and assaulted the driver of the Camaro before fleeing the scene, according to EPCSO…
