During a ceremony Thursday morning, the department named its shooting range after Sergeant Dave Bartram. After joining APD in 1973, Sgt. Bartram was influential in creating the Repeat Offenders Project, one of the country’s earliest specialized investigative units, as well as APD’s SWAT and tactical operations teams. He also trained generations of officers, serving as range master.
