Orange, CA – The Orange Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit has arrested an armed suspect and confiscated more than 50 pounds of illegal drugs, multiple firearms, and $150,000 in cash after a lengthy investigation into narcotics distribution within the city. Officials say the operation is one of the most significant seizures in recent months.
The Incident: Search Warrant Leads to Major Drug Seizure
Following a long-term investigation into suspected drug trafficking, the Orange Police Department executed a search warrant at a local residence and storage unit earlier this week. The operation led to the arrest of one suspect, who was booked into the Orange County Jail on multiple felony charges.
According to the department, officers discovered a large cache of narcotics, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, ecstasy, and heroin, along with four firearms and large sums of cash believed to be drug proceeds.
“This was a coordinated effort by our Special Investigations Unit aimed at dismantling dangerous drug networks that threaten public safety in our city,” an Orange Police spokesperson said.
Investigation and Evidence Recovered
Authorities reported that the search yielded approximately:
- 32 pounds of methamphetamine
- 24 pounds of fentanyl
- 7 pounds of cocaine
- 2 pounds of ecstasy
- 2 pounds of heroin
- 4 firearms
- $150,000 in cash
