Toledo Jeep plant worker says ‘emergency status’ pushing employees to the brink

TOLEDO, Ohio — A fire at an auto parts manufacturer in Wyandot County triggered a ripple effect that’s now being felt in Toledo, according to Stellantis.

After weeks of downtime at the Toledo Assembly Complex, Stellantis has declared “emergency status” to make up for production backlog, and workers say it’s pushing them past their limits.

According to employees, the emergency status has led to mandatory 10-hour shifts, six to seven days a week. One longtime worker told WTOL 11 he’s gone nearly a month without a day off…
