Trader Joe’s in Glenmont nears opening

On Friday morning, the soon-to-be Trader Joe’s at Glenmont Plaza in Bethlehem looked to be just about ready for opening, complete with the grocery chain’s signage. Some of the store’s most iconic products like its “world’s puffiest white cheddar corn puffs” and “speculoos cookie butter,” filled the aisles. Paper bags sat neatly stacked at the registers. A sign outside its front automatic sliding door read “Your neighborhood Trader Joe’s is closed. We will be opening soon.”

On Wednesday, a Trader Joe’s spokesperson told the Times Union they did not have an estimated opening date to share and said they’d notify the Times Union as soon as there is a date to publicly announce. The store is listed as “coming soon” on the Trader Joe’s website.

“At Trader Joe’s in Glenmont, we see ourselves as your neighborhood grocery store,” the website reads. “Step inside and you’ll find unconventional and interesting products in the Trader Joe’s label like Mandarin Orange Chicken and Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate, as well as everyday basics like milk, eggs, meat, bakery items and fresh produce.”…
