ALBANY — Scattered throughout three rooms on the first floor of a two-story house, complete with a bright purple, turquoise, and pink exterior at 350 New Scotland Ave. in Albany, are hundreds of handmade art pieces created by Capital Region artists. The wood-fired pottery, crochet plushies, hand-dyed tote bags and more are all for sale.
It’s all part of The SHOP@Albany Art Room, which opened in the first week of September, said owner and founder Karen Schupack.
“At our opening day event, there were like 100 people here, and it’s a tiny, little place,” Schupack said. “I feel like being part of this community and developing those connections is probably what’s most important.”…
