I was honored to be an organizer and speaker for the No Kings Protest and Rally this past Saturday at Pierce Park in Chelsea. I believe it’s more important than ever to share first-hand experiences and different perspectives and am writing to do just that.
On Saturday, around 1,000 people showed up for our No Kings Protest and Rally. It was a peaceful and powerful gathering of folks from Chelsea and neighboring cities and townships who wanted to express their concern for actions and policies that are contradictory to our constitution. We heard from several speakers all sharing messages of hope, solidarity, and community.
Local organizations set up tables and gave folks an opportunity to take further action. ALL of the candidates for Chelsea City Council and Mayor attended. We collected 2 car loads of food donations for our local food bank and dozens of bags of clothing for a foster youth clothing drive…
