East Ridge city council approves stormwater plan, aiming to comply with federal aid rules

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. — East Ridge city council approved a proposal Thursday to develop a stormwater plan that would address flooding like what our area saw back in August.

The plan would also allow the city to remain in compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program.

This comes months after Mayor Brian Williams said August’s flood damage did not meet the threshold for FEMA funding.
