A dozen local organizations came together Thursday evening for Prepared Not Scared.
The public outreach event organized by the Erie County Department of Health aimed to prepare county residents in case of emergency situations.

First responders and other emergency partners taught hands-on and simple ways to stay safe and prepared when needed.
“If there were an emergency, we need to be able to help everybody regardless of their abilities. For participants, it’s beneficial because we have emergency responders here. We have k-9 search and rescue dogs here, so if there was an emergency, that won’t be their first encounter with this type of situation, so the experience, to them, is also very helpful,” said Alex Whipple, director of health improvement and preparedness.
