The City of Hawthorne, Florida, is seeking sealed bids for the construction of a new food bank facility. The project is funded by the federal Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). The goal is to increase the city’s ability to provide food, medical, and outreach services to residents.
The planned facility will be 14,664 square feet. The work includes land preparation, parking area construction, stormwater management, and utility installation. The project is managed under CDBG-CV Agreement number 22CV-S19. Oversight is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the State of Florida Department of Commerce.
