LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Clinton County officials are warning residents of an email scam.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department warned of the scam in a social media post Friday. The scammers, officials report, send an invoice that appears to be an official invoice from the county’s Planning and Zoning Department.
“These emails appear legitimate, but they are not from the Planning and Zoning Department,” the agency wrote on Facebook. “The Planning and Zoning Department does NOT request payments via email, wire transfer, or prepaid cards of any type.”
