Philadelphia man jailed for role in Collegeville jewelry store heist

NORRISTOWN — A Philadelphia man was sent to jail for taking part with several others in a burglary at a Collegeville jewelry store that netted the culprits more than $380,000 in merchandise.

Donte Stanley Solomon, 33, of the 7700 block of Chelwynde Avenue, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 8-to-23-months in the county jail after he pleaded guilty to felony charges of burglary and theft by unlawful taking or disposition in connection with the 4:34 a.m. Feb. 9, 2024, break-in at Sabre’s Fine Jewelry store in the 400 block of East Main Street in Collegeville.

Judge Steven T. O’Neill, who previously characterized the incident as a “smash-and-grab” jewelry heist, also ordered Solomon to complete four years of probation consecutive to parole, meaning Solomon will be under court supervision for about six years…
