There’s a good reason that cat lounges have become so popular! Not only do people get to spend time with adorable kitties, but they also have the opportunity to make them a part of their family!
Kitty Corner Social Club is an Iowa City cat lounge that just opened this year, but they’ve already found homes for tons felines. According to social media, they’ve had more than 150 cat and kitten adoptions in the last 8 months!
What’s Kitty Corner?
Back in February of this year, Kitty Corner Social Club officially opened its doors at 20 S. Clinton Street in Iowa City, right next to Airliner. According to the website, the business serves as a “cozy, welcoming space where humans can relax, hang out, and spend quality time with adoptable cats in a stress-free environment.” For a small fee, people of all ages can stop in and visit with 6 to 10 cats for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or a full hour.
Cat Adoptions
All of the cars at Kitty Corner Social Club are up for adoption, with the exception of a very important employee: Goose, Director of Communications.
According to the Daily Iowan, the adoptable cats and kittens at Kitty Corner come from local shelters and rescues that are within a 90-minute drive of Iowa City. That includes the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center, Muscatine County Humane Society, the Cedar County League for Animal Welfare, and more.
Back in August, Kitty Corner Social Club celebrated their 100th cat adoption! According to an article from the Iowa City Press Citizen, the lucky kitty was a five-month-old tabby named Hot Love…
