Heavy rainfall likely Saturday night

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) –

Saturday has started off with dry conditions, but isolated showers and storms will drift in by the afternoon. Two waves of storms are expected throughout the day, with the first one moving in Saturday afternoon. This initial wave will be non-severe and should fizzle out later in the evening. The second wave will move in late Saturday night and continue through into the early morning hours of Sunday. A few isolated severe storms will be possible with gusty winds, small hail, and a brief spin-up tornado can’t be ruled out. Heavy downpours will be a greater risk as the night goes on, dropping anywhere between 2 to 4 inches of rain. Flash flooding will be possible into early Sunday morning. This is why we will be under a Flash Flood Watch from 9 PM Saturday…..
