UNL Clay Club Hosts Free Ceramic Artist Lecture for Local Community on October 30

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) Clay Club will host ceramic artists Adrian Arleo and Jane Shellenbarger for the Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist and Scholar Lectures. The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on October 30, 2025, at the Ethel S. Abbott Auditorium in the Sheldon Museum of Art. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Adrian Arleo studied art and anthropology at Pitzer College and earned an M.F.A. in ceramics from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has completed residencies at the Oregon College of Art and Craft and the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology. Her work has been exhibited widely and is included in several collections. She has received fellowships from the Virginia A. Groot Foundation and the Montana Arts Council.

Jane Shellenbarger is from Detroit, Michigan. She was a CORE student at Penland School of Crafts and holds degrees from the Kansas City Art Institute and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She founded Mill Station Pottery in Hale, Michigan, and is a professor and graduate program director at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
