Maryland Gov. visits Bowie food pantry, speaks with federal workers impacted by shutdown

BOWIE, Md. (7News) — Maryland Governor Wes Moore visited the Bowie food pantry on Friday to continue to blast the government shutdown and highlight the hardship being felt by Marylanders.

“We are now seeing people who just weeks ago believed they had stable jobs, people who were public servants, people who were doing things like making sure our food is safe and now they’re coming to a food pantry because they need food themselves,” the governor told 7News.

The pantry operates year-round and serves registered clients based on income. As the shutdown has dragged on, they’ve also opened up to furloughed federal workers…
