What began as a routine afternoon of door-to-door campaigning on Cardiff Road in Rotterdam turned into a frightening encounter for Schenectady County Legislator Josh Cuomo. NEWS 10’s Amber Fisher spoke with Cuomo shortly after the incident occurred.
“It was a typical day. Me and my family were all going door to door like we usually do around election time. We had a ton of doors. We went up to this one locked. My boys noticed that some Halloween decorations look like cotton candies. I thought that was kind of funny. I introduced myself. Hello. My name’s Josh Cuomo, I’m a Schenectady County legislator. I’m up for reelection… She asked me what my political affiliation was. I said, I’m a conservative. I’m endorsed by the Republicans. And she immediately flipped the script and started just being irate.” said Cuomo.

Cuomo said that she threatened him, and he led his family away from the home. “Obviously, my first concern was for my family. You know, my two boys are there. My two girls and my wife were, you know, ten feet away at the street side.”
Cuomo also said that he is attaining a restraining order for himself and his family against the woman. Police say that the woman was arrested for harassment in the second degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child…
