The City of St. Pete Beach has announced a phishing scam targeting people who recently submitted planning or zoning applications. Fake invoices are being sent from email addresses such as “[email protected]” and “[email protected].” These emails request payments and claim to be from the City. Officials state these emails are not from the City and advise recipients not to pay or share personal information.
The City states that official payment requests are only sent through the City’s permitting platform with a secure link.
