SYRACUSE, N.Y. — As Halloween approaches, the cost of costumes is on the rise, with the average price now at $37.62, an 11% increase from last year, according to the National Retail Federation.
Experts attribute the hike to tariffs on Chinese imports, impacting both retailers and consumers. Despite the higher costs, Americans are expected to spend a record $13.1 billion on Halloween this year, up from $11.6 billion in 2024.
