The City of Cedar Rapids will start its annual fall leaf vacuum collection on Monday, October 27, 2025. The Solid Waste and Recycling Division will run the program through Thursday, December 5. Leaf pickup will take place every other week. Collection days depend on the city quadrant where residents live.
Residents in the southeast and northeast quadrants will have leaf collection on Mondays and Tuesdays, alternating each week. Those in the southwest and northwest quadrants will have service on Wednesdays and Thursdays, also on an alternating schedule. The city has sent collection calendars to Utilities customers with their utility bills and included the schedule in the August Our CR magazine. Cedar Rapids provides text and email alerts through CRNewsNow.com and the Mobile CR app. Residents should rake leaves to the parking area or grass next to the street by 7 a.m. on their collection day.
