Kroger donates gift cards to Arkansas Foodbank as shutdown continues

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Kroger announced that the company is stepping in to assist Arkansas families affected by the federal government shutdown.

The company has donated $5,000 in Kroger gift cards to the Arkansas Foodbank, officials said.

The gift cards will be distributed on Oct. 24 to those in need, starting with government workers who have not been paid, and can be used at any Kroger store in Arkansas, officials said.
