Scattered showers and storms have arrived and they will stick around for a while. A system in the Plains will be slow to move out as it tracks to our south and southeast.
There will be some breaks in the rain. However, rainfall will also be heavy at times. Even though some rumbles of thunder will be possible, storms are expected to stay below severe thresholds.
While flooding is not a major concern, ponding on some roads is likely. A Flood Watch for Kay County in Oklahoma will be in effect through Saturday afternoon.
Today’s conditions will aid in cooling our temperatures down too. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s.
Rain will continue to be on and off through tonight. Wherever it is drier, there will still be considerable cloud cover.
With low pressure nearby, showers Saturday will be stubborn. Rain will mainly impact Southwest, Central, and Eastern Kansas. Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska will not be as damp.
Low pressure will also keep dragging cooler air into the area. The majority of our high temperatures Saturday will be in the 50s.
Showers will begin to break apart through Saturday night. As rainfall gets pulled to our east there could be some stragglers early Sunday but the end of the weekend will be much drier.
Another system will be quick to swing through Sunday night through Monday but rainfall does not look as significant. High temperatures will bounce between the 60s and 50s.
