Fort Carson USO Remembers Longtime Volunteer Genevieve Rodgers for Her Dedication to Local Service Members

USO Colorado is recognizing Genevieve “Genie” Losiewicz Rodgers, a volunteer who died on September 25, 2025, at age 98. Genevieve volunteered for eight years at the USO Center at Fort Carson. She and her sister, Helen Weathersby, were known as ‘the sisters’ for their work supporting service members. Their activities included preparing meals, gathering supplies, and helping create a welcoming space for troops.

Genevieve’s involvement with the military community was influenced by her marriage to Lt. Col. Benjamin Losiewicz, a World War II B-17 pilot and Air Force officer. During her husband’s deployments, and while raising two children, Genevieve often hosted others in her home…
