SATURDAY – FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY
It’s been an active weather day for sure, but we haven’t seen anything too squirrely locally besides an occasional downpour and strong wind gust. Lightning/rumbles of thunder have mainly stayed along the coast and in the Coast Range. Showers will continue overnight and through Sunday, but the wind should start to calm down after sunset this evening. The wind warnings/advisories will expire at 11 p.m.
So far we’ve seen some 40+ MPH gusts in the metro area (bridges and hills) and gusts in the 50s along the coast and in the foothills. That has caused scattered power outages, with some 22,000 PGE customers (3:30 pm number) without power this afternoon. Statewide, Clackamas and Marion counties have seen the most outages…
