First Alert: Rain chances ramp up in time to head back to school and work

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Despite more clouds today, today will remain mostly dry with just a few patchy areas of drizzle possible. Most areas will stay dry under mainly cloudy skies. Numerous showers and even cooler temperatures will start the workweek.

First Alert Summary

While there won’t be as much sunshine today, our weather remains mostly dry to round out the weekend. Some patchy light rain and/or drizzle can’t be completely ruled out. Today’s highs will range from the upper 50s to possibly mid 60s.

Late today into tomorrow, winds may gust to around 15 to 20 mph at times along with a few showers moving in from the south after midnight ahead of our next system.

Have the rain gear ready to go Monday morning as a few showers will already be in place with a continued chance for off and on rain through the day.

This workweek will be much different from the last! Daily rain chances are forecast through Thursday. It will also be quite a bit cooler with highs well below average, only in the 50s Monday and Tuesday to low 60s through Thursday.

Rain chances may decrease a bit Tuesday, but a few showers will remain possible. Rain chances go up again Wednesday as a second frontal system moves across the region. Forecast calls for a few showers on the backside of the system Thursday remaining possible with dry weather in store for Friday…
