Brenton Davis to invest in plan to turn blighted Corry site into workforce training hub

Erie County Executive Brenton Davis will announce a major public investment to turn a brownfield site in Corry into a regional workforce hub.

The project, in partnership with the Corry Redevelopment Authority and the Enterprise Development Center of Erie County, will turn the former LTT Welding & Fabricating building, located at 106 E. Main St. in Corry, into the Corry Regional Workforce Center. The center will provide training in welding, machining and healthcare/emergency medical services, according to an Oct. 24 news release from the Davis administration.

The initiative is supported by $338,698 in American Rescue Plan Act funds, which will go toward brownfield remediation and the acquisition of the site. The center will create a “cross-county pipeline” for skilled workers and support family-sustaining careers across the region, according to the news release…
