Teen dead after losing control of Mustang, colliding with pole: LAPD

The teenage driver of a Mustang that lost control and crashed into a light pole died as a result of his injuries, police confirmed.

A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told KTLA that the crash, which appeared to have only involved the Mustang, took place at 22nd Street and Harbor Boulevard in San Pedro around 11 p.m. Saturday.

“The vehicle was traveling eastbound on 22nd Street and made a left turn on Harbor when it lost control and hit a pole,” the spokesperson said.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene after authorities responded to the area. The victim was only listed as a “17-to 18-year-old male.”
