Campbell Man Faces Weapons and DUI Charges After Traffic Stop in Daly City

A routine DUI stop in Daly City led to more severe charges for a 59-year-old Campbell man last Friday. The Colma Police Department reported that an officer, while patrolling El Camino Real near B Street, noticed a BMW stationary at a green light. The vehicle proceeded through the intersection against the red light, prompting a traffic stop at Mission Street and Castle Street.

Upon encountering the driver, identified as Anthony Jackson, the officer observed signs of impairment consistent with substance use, including “glossy, red eyes, slurred speech,” according to an official social media post from the Colma Police Department. Jackson failed several field sobriety tests, resulting in his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
