October 26, 1997 – Nebraskans worked to restore power on Oct. 26, 1997 after a surprise snow storm. Thousands of trees were down in Lincoln and Omaha and clean up was underway.

Omaha Public Power District had 150,000 people without power

It took 11 days to get power back to Omaha. In Lincoln, 55,000 people were without power – that was 52% of LES’ customers.
