Albuquerque Fire Rescue shares the process of determining the cause of a fire

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – According to Albuquerque Fire Rescue, most fires in the metro are human-caused but what does it take to find evidence and to charge someone with arson if it was intentional? AFR shared how the process works when it comes to arson cases and started by taking a look at some high-profile fire cases from this year.

An example is the fire at Marshalls that led to an arrest. “The Marshalls fire that recently happened is a good example of an event where they had enough information and enough evidence to actually, you know, identify a person of interest and also make an arrest,” said Lieutenant Jason Fejer, Albuquerque Fire Rescue.
