LONGMONT, Colo. — A Longmont High School student was taken into custody after carrying a gun onto the school’s campus Thursday, according to police.
Longmont Public Safety said on Facebook that at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the school resource officer at Skyline High School was alerted to social media photos showing a student who had what appeared to be a handgun. Police said the SRO worked closely with school administration and quickly identified and interviewed the student, who said the gun had been sold to another student at Longmont High School.
Police said the information was immediately shared with the SRO and administration at Longmont High School. At around 1:25 p.m., school staff and the SRO found the student as he arrived on campus. He was escorted to the school office, police said, and a pat-down search was conducted…
