One Dead in Fiery Head-On Crash With Garbage Truck in Lincoln County

REARDAN — A fatal collision on State Route 2 claimed one life Friday morning when two vehicles collided head-on and burst into flames about four miles east of Reardan, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers say the crash occurred at around 10:27 a.m. near milepost 268 when a westbound vehicle attempted to pass traffic and struck an eastbound truck head-on. Both vehicles were fully engulfed in flames upon impact and came to rest in the westbound lane of the highway.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, whose name has not been released pending next-of-kin notification, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, identified as 27-year-old Porter T. Fulps of Spokane, was treated for injuries and released from Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane…
