Columbia Memorial Hospital to cut 127 hospital beds

HUDSON, NY (WNYT) – Albany Med Health System, which owns Columbia Memorial Hospital, said they are going to change the designation of the hospital. The hospital is currently a rural referral hospital, but the company plans on making a critical access hospital pending state and federal approval.

The hospital said this change wouldn’t include any layoffs but would result in a significant reduction in the number of hospital beds.

Columbia Memorial Hospital currently has 192 beds and said only 35 to 50 of them are being used every day…
