Orrville Cycling, long a fixture of Orrville, will soon find a new home in downtown Orrville in a remodeled historic building located at 249 W. Market St. The remodeled home of the business coincides with a revitalization of the western edge of the downtown area of West Market Street.
Across the street, the City of Orrville is giving the area around Orrville Railroad Heritage Society’s historic depot a facelift. The city is doing a complete renovation of the landscaping, including adding more greenery and building an outdoor amphitheater.
“Orrville Cycling was established by the Amstutz family in 1957, initially as a Schwinn bicycle shop,” said Christine Steiner, co-owner of the shop, along with husband Clyde Steiner. “However, after the Schwinn Corporation went into bankruptcy in the early 1990s, Schwinn’s quality declined. In 1988, Orrville Cycling started carrying Trek bikes, which have since become our main brand, offering a balance of quality and affordability. Trek’s customer service is highly regarded. We purchased the shop in 2021. My husband Clyde has brought his extensive experience and passion for cycling to the shop. Having worked at the shop in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Clyde possesses a deep understanding of the industry and is skilled as a mechanic, which allows Orrville Cycling to work on all bikes, including e-bikes. Clyde and I manage the shop, prioritizing personalized customer service.”…
