Charleston County, South Carolina — Over the last three years, News 4 photographer Brian Heins and I have journeyed throughout the Lowcountry to unearth the creepy legends and ghostly history that distinguish this region – all as part of our Creepy Carolina series.
Our first Creepy Carolina episode aired in October 2022, and it featured a visit to the Old City Jail in downtown Charleston, where we investigated the horrific legend of Lavinia Fisher, also known as America’s first female serial murderer.
