CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -When you think of distracted driving, you probably think of texting — phones in hand, eyes off the road. But according to AAA, a growing number of distractions are coming from inside the vehicle — and affecting a different generation of drivers.
Morgan Dean, spokesperson for AAA Mid-Atlantic, says older drivers are increasingly being distracted by their own car’s built-in technology.
“By and large, seniors are being distracted by the technology and the infotainment systems that are on board their vehicles,” Dean said. “That’s a little bit different than younger generations, who are more likely to be distracted by their cell phones.”…
