A dramatic series of events unfolded yesterday in Mariemont when a 41-year-old woman was stabbed several times. The suspect, a 39-year-old man, made a critical decision to flee the scene and later take a dramatic plunge off the Purple People Bridge. According to a report from WLWT, the Mariemont Police Department responded to a call at the 3800 block of Homewood Road at around 6:30 a.m. to find the victim with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect had already fled the area by the time the officers arrived. In a cascade of events, the man was then encountered by Newport Police on the Newport Southbank Bridge, popularly known as the Purple People Bridge.
