INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) – Homestead tennis standout Joe Garrean is not even a semester into his high school career, but he is wasting no time bringing home some hardware.
This weekend in Indianapolis, Garrean rolled to a singles state championship at the IHSAA State Finals at Park Tudor High School. Garrean defeated Bishop Chatard sophomore Casey Beckman, winning his match, 6-4, 6-4.
Just a freshman at Homestead, Garrean is the first freshman to win a singles state title in IHSAA history. The young tennis standout finished his season with a 17-3 record, while also helping Homestead finish as state runner-up in the team tournament…
