Georgia football fans want nothing more than to forget about the six years when Urban Meyer was Florida’s head coach. Meyer not only won two National Championships while at Florida, but he had a dominant 5-1 record against the Bulldogs from 2005-2010 while he was the Gators head coach.
Meyer thankfully didn’t last long at Florida because he moved on to other opportunities, but he was as dominant as any coach could be while in charge of the Gators program. Unfortunately he has offered his assistance to Florida ahead of Georgia’s matchup with the Gators this Saturday.
“I wanted to have a chance to talk to him (Meyer) a little bit about the team concept,” Florida interim head coach Billy Gonzales shared via ugawire.usatoday.com. “One of the unique things he talked about, and we talked about, is you’re walking into a situation where it’s not the perfect situation for you, Billy, but at the same time you want to make sure you’re here for the players. We’ve got a bunch of seniors on this football team. We’ve got a bunch of underclassmen that are fighting and are going to do everything they can to be successful.”
