PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A wet week awaits us, which is welcome news after a very lengthy stretch of dry weather. As we enter the last few days of October, monthly rainfall totals are only at 0.08”, which is dramatically below normal. That will change beginning Monday as showers are likely to move in overnight and become more widespread by the afternoon and evening.
Rainfall chances will continue every day through Thursday before tapering off by Friday morning. It will not be raining every moment of each day, but there will be moments we see better coverage, especially Wednesday into Thursday.
Bottom line, keep the rain gear handy this week because it will be a soggy week. Both the American and European models are forecasting over 1.5” of rainfall for the Piedmont by Friday afternoon; heavier amounts are possible along the coast and in Upstate South Carolina…
