Texas State Parks Day returning with free admission at the state’s 89 sites

With cooler weather on the way, Houstonians seeking a taste of nature can do so for free on Texas State Parks Day on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Admissions fees — usually around $8 for a day pass  —  will be waived at Texas’ 89 state parks that day. Parks near Houston include Brazos Bend, Stephen F. Austin, Galveston Island, Lake Somerville, Village Creek and Sheldon Lake state parks.
