JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Thirty-three years ago, on October 26, 1992, construction began on a big road project that we now call “The Stack.”
It happened at the junction of Interstate 55, Interstate 20, and U.S. Highway 49, and it added additional lanes and a flyover bridge to get traffic from one highway to another more safely.
Once it was finished, the new bridges appeared to be stacked on top of each other, and that’s where the name comes from…
