What began as a battle for bragging rights between district unbeatens quickly turned into a statement game for the surging Loreauville Tigers on the road Friday night.
Fueled by a career night from senior quarterback and do-it-all playmaker Blake Delcambre Jr., Loreauville stunned defending Division III Select state champion Catholic High 40-28 Friday, seizing control of the District 7-2A race and extending its win streak to four.
The victory moved the Tigers to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in district, while Catholic fell to 6-2 (2-1), suffering only its second loss of the season, the other an overtime road heartbreaker to Notre Dame.
