(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A crash resulted in a vehicle fire that left one person in the hospital with serious injuries on Saturday night, Oct. 25, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD reported that around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the intersection of East Woodmen Road and Banning Lewis Parkway, east of Marksheffel Road, where they found a car fully engulfed in flames following a two-vehicle accident. Two people had escaped the car with help from drivers who had stopped. The passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle had abandoned the car and run away before police officers arrived, according to CSPD. The crash is under investigation, but according to police, it appears that alcohol and speed were both factors…
