BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Western New York paramedic is being recognized on the national stage for an act of compassion during one of the region’s worst winter storms.
When a blizzard brought whiteout conditions and impassable roads, AMR Paramedic Douglas Milks pushed through to reach a critically ill patient. Despite a driving ban, he managed to get to the home — providing care, comfort, and dignity in the patient’s final moments.
