DOJ: Porterville teen tied to extremist group facing ‘animal crushing’ charges

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A federal grand jury returned a six-count indictment against a 19-year-old Porterville man who is allegedly a member of a violent extremist group “764” and participated in what was described as “animal crushing,” according to the Department of Justice.

Federal prosecutors say 19-year-old Tony Christopher Long (also known as Inactive, Inactivee0, and inactivecvx) was charged with animal crushing, sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor, cyberstalking, and transmitting an interstate threat.

Court documents cite 18 U.S. Code § 48 (animal crushing), which Cornell Law School defines as “conduct in which one or more living non-human mammals, birds, reptiles, or amphibians is purposely crushed, burned, drowned, suffocated, impaled, or otherwise subjected to serious bodily injury.”

According to court documents, Long was a member and associate of “764,” a criminal organization of Nihilistic Violent Extremists (NVEs).
