In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has launched a campaign aptly named #BridgeToSafety. Through a recent social media post, the JSO accentuated the importance of community support for individuals facing domestic violence. “No one should have to face abuse alone,” the post read, highlighting that over 5,400 reports of domestic violence have already been filed in Jacksonville this year. Every report represents a person seeking safety and an escape from fear.
