Restaurant closing, cites ‘civil unrest’ downtown for declining sales

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Flying Fish is closing after 18 years in downtown Memphis, and blaming “civil unrest” for declining sales.

In a statement on its website, the restaurant said, “We have struggled to keep our doors open but the civil unrest downtown has stunted sales for the past several years to a point of no return, at least for the near future.”

The statement continued, “Our hope is that downtown Memphis can one day soon again be the vibrant beacon of culture, commerce and creativity it has been for centuries.”…
