West Memphis Man Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison For 2023 Shooting

A West Memphis man has been sentenced to slightly more than eight years in federal prison after being arrested for a 2023 shooting.

According to the West Memphis Police Department, Jaylen Atkins, 21, was sentenced to 103 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to a 2024 federal indictment. The sentencing occurred on Wednesday.

Atkins is the suspect in a December 2023 shooting that injured one guy and left a child “shot multiple times.” According to West Memphis Police, witnesses described the gunshots as “rapid.”…
