Pennsylvania Teen Saves Elderly Woman From Fire

A fifteen-year-old student in Pennsylvania is being hailed as a hero after helping an elderly woman when her house caught on fire. The boy reportedly jumped into action after leaving the school bus. Since the incident, the boy’s family and even the local mayor have also commented on the story.

The Young Man Managed To Save ‘Everybody’s Grandmother’ From The Flames

Xaiveyon McMillan Taylor had been dropped off in his North Braddock, Pennsylvania, neighborhood when a scary situation came to light. The teenager heard nearby screams, coming from a local woman who was a big part of the community.

It soon became apparent that the woman’s house was on fire. Xaiveyon quickly took action to help, but the situation soon proved itself to be more complicated than it appeared.

Speaking with CBS Pittsburgh KDKA, Xaiveyon himself shared, “When I got to the kitchen, I saw the engulfing flames. They were small, and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I had to grab her by the hand and had to pull her to get out of the house.”

As Xaiveyon’s mother, Tallula Thompson, explained, the elderly woman was known as “Ms. Evelyn.” Said to be in her 80s, she was described as being a “grandmother” to the local community…
